Why We Support One Tree Planted and How Your Board Can Too

At BoardPaq, we do a lot of things well, but we’re known most for our incredible paperless board portal and our first-class customer service. Recently, we’re getting recognized for another important aspect of our business: our philanthropy.
Just like our board portal and our customer service, we hold giving back, and our positive impact on the world, to the highest of standards. This is why we’ve taken our giving to the next level over the past two years by committing to an annual impact goal of planting 3,000 trees around the entire world! This commitment ensures we’re creating a positive and measurable impact on the world, and lets our board customers know that when they use our board portal, they’re making a difference.
One Tree Planted
As a paperless board management company, choosing to plant trees as our main impact made perfect sense and was a quick decision for us. However, selecting a nonprofit partner to help us carry out our mission was a longer process. This partner had to not only be an organization WE could trust, but one our board customers could be proud to support as well.
You see, for every free demo we give, a tree is planted as a seed of good faith to the potential relationship ahead. By doing this, each board we work with helps to make a difference, from day one of engaging with BoardPaq. Taking you paperless is a gigantic step on its own, but we wanted our customers to be able to make a larger impact as well. The impact from our service and demos had to be REAL and POWERFUL, which led us to One Tree Planted.
One Tree Planted is different from other tree planting initiatives. They have a simple, yet transparent mission. As an environmental charity, they make it simple for ANYONE to help the environment by planting trees. By working with trusted, local reforestation partners around the world, individuals (like you!) and companies (like BoardPaq!) get to choose the location for their trees to be planted. Instead of needing to be tree planting experts, with the ability to jetset around the world, we can ALL make a difference from the comfort of our own boardroom. With One Tree Planted regularly planting trees in North America, South America, Asia, and Africa, the impact we can have, together, is boundless.
The Need
Did you know that trees help to clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity? It’s true! But if that wasn’t enough, forests also provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people around the world!
Incredible, right? We think so, too.
As our planet continues to warm, these world-changing trees are at risk now more than ever before. This is why it is crucial that we focus on reforestation, to ensure that trees can continue to help us and our planet. Through organizations like One Tree Planted, this mission is now possible.
The Impact
One Tree Planted promises to help our world for decades to come by guaranteeing an 80-90% survival rate of all trees planted. This allows their planting projects to help with restoration from forest fires and floods, while also creating jobs, building communities, and protecting habitat biodiversity.
On their website, One Tree Planted breaks down their impact into 6 pillars, explaining exactly how the trees they plant make a difference. These pillars include: cleaner air, cleaner water, enhanced biodiversity, increased social impact, and protection for our climate.
